So it has arrived... My one week anniversary of being in London! Wow. That is unbelievable. I mean it still feels like a Vacation... Just a little more extended. A whole week. Saying it makes it sound like forever, but short all at the same time.
So much has changed since coming here. Whether it be not seeing any familiar faces, besides my roommate TK of course, to travel (I have not sat in a car in over a week!), and adjusting to time, food, and climate.
Well I will begin with familiar faces... Although I haven't seen too many of these, I have met quite a few people since arrival. On weekly outings to different pubs/bars/clubs we have met quite the mix of people. Whether they are from Wales or Singapore, or raised in Germany but Greek Heritage, they have been nothing but nice.... except for one exception...My international Marketing teacher does not care for America nor anyone from there. Kind of ironic huh, being an International Marketing teacher and all.... Oh well.
Traveling. Wow. I will miss this when I come home for sure! I mean it is not the cheapest way to get around, but I can travel the city on the underground and feel comfortable that I know where I'm going! It only took me a week, but it is really an amazing feeling to know that I can get from point A to point B in a foreign country!
Time. The time difference is no fun.... I wish it were more convenient for me to talk to those from home. With a 6 hour time difference, it is not very ideal. I speak with my family generally around lunch time here, when they are just getting up for work looking their very best.... Morning Hair and all :) and as for my friends... outside of email, Facebook and skype are my life. I can call anyone from my skype account or just look online and see all my friends from home procrastinating on facebook. Perfect timing for me to catch up with them and the home life. But with time, I still feel my sleep schedule is getting adjusted. Not sleeping very well, but to justify - there is constantly something going on, so sleep is not put into priority as much.
Food. Ok I was forewarned that everything here is bland. No flavor. No substance. and not a lot of it. Being a big lover of food, hearing things like this made me very nervous. But surprisingly enough, not too bad! A couple meals could do with some more seasonings or flavor... but I have yet to have a bad meal. And all their food is so fresh here! You must eat things quickly because otherwise they expire within rouhly 4.1415 hours... Yeah Iknow(slightly exaggerrated...). I have gone to the grocery store more times than I can remember already. This also includes having to constantly buy water and drinks because their water is not suitable to drink. Not good. Besides being a girl with a big appetite; my thirst is equal in strength. Atleast it is quite a nice workout for the arms carrying back all the groceries everyday!
Climate. Well it sure beats Wisconsin! We just had a small snowfall, so that was unfortunate... but much better than the piles of snow home just received. Besides that, it is Grey. That basically sums it up. If the sun does come out, it is just a teaser and the temperature generally drops 10 degrees when it does appear for all of the 13 minutes. Otherwise it has been around 40 and cloudy since arrival. Atleast not a lot of rain!
Otherwise things are calming down over here. Classes have begun and seem overwhelming at first, but will only improve with time I'm sure... Going to try to see more sights including more museums and shopping! But we are going to kick it all off with going to the Absolut Ice Bar tonight where everything is made out of ice! Cannot Wait!
Cheers!

Nice interesting travelogue from someone who sees the world as "wide open". Keep the narrative going - Well done!
